The Significance of Black History Month
A Personal Journey of Inspiration and Legacy
As Black History Month unfolds, I reflect on the profound meaning it holds for me as a Black woman. This month is not just a time of remembrance, but also a celebration of the resilience, excellence, and indomitable spirit of Black people. It is a month where I am reminded of the giants whose shoulders we stand on, those who have relentlessly broken down barriers and paved the way for future generations. Icons such as Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X come to mind. Their bravery and determination have left an indelible mark on history.
